Cute bears

Sorry it's been a while since I have posted on here. It's a lot harder to keep up with these blogs than I thought it would be!
I've not been up to much crafting as I was feeling so tried all of the time, well turns out I have low iron & vitamin D!
I'm now on medication so fingers crossed they will start helping soon.

I did get a sudden urge to make a couple of cards 2 weeks ago. The first I'm sharing is my favorite bear the forever friends bear, I love these little bears & I've had the set of stamps for many years but not got around to using them before!

I didn't want to do traditional union Jack colours so opted for pastel promarkers to colour the teapot, the bear is coloured using vanilla & blush. The papers I've used bar the polka dot one are from the portobello road paper pad, the pink & blue flowers are coloured using promarkers & are a spellbinders die.

The second card I want to share is a me to you or tatty teddy one, these are my sister's favorite bears & almost every Christmas and birthday card has an image of these bears.

I don't know why I chose green for this one but I started with the flowery paper & went from there the paper is from limited edition I may of said it before but I love their papers, the happy birthday die isn't staying I have planned to die cut another circle then stamp a sentiment & mount it on top of the light green die cut doily, I've just placed the happy birthday for this picture, the glitter card I've used is really sparkly but doesn't show up at well. I've also used glossy accents on the bears eyes & nose & also on the cakes & cake stand.

I hope you like them both, I'm quite pleased with how they turned out considering there want reason for me to do them other than I wanted to.

I hope to post again tomorrow as I have been making some special little boxes
Thanks for visiting
Happy crafting

Shabby chic, vintage rose

This was for my sisters friends birthday
this stamp was a gift many many years ago and was by elusive images ive seen the same stamp on chocolate baroques site i'm not sure if they used to be elusive images or if they now have the rights to make these stamps.

I layered gold mirri with a pearlescent pink pastel card i think came in a pack from c&c the rose paper is from First Edition 6x6 rose garden paper pad. I love their paper pads you get some that are textured, embossed and pearlised. my sister gave me this and the 12x12 pad for xmas!

Ive stamped the rose with memento ink knowing i was going to be using promarkers i think this is the best ink to use. i distressed the edges with tim holtz distress ink vintage photo and a little brushed corduroy, i did the same to the sentiment before cutting them out and using a corner punch and mounting onto gold mirri the ribbons and cameo are from my stash and i love the cream and latte colours.

I put a contrasting paper inside for the insert with a verse and i 3rd generation stamped the rose on te left hand side, just to give it a more proffessional look.

When i started this card i didnt really have a design or idea in mind i just did it!! the ccard i atamped the rose on was from my stash and to be honest its not my normal colouring card so i thought it looked rubbish and i was even going to stamp it again. well it turned out a lot nicer than i thought and my sisters friend loved it

my first ever blog!!!!

I'd like to start with a card i made a few weeks ago
The image is a digital stamp from Hannah Lynn called punch of colour, there a few of these punch of colour girls digi stamps. I've coloured her  with a few grey promarkers cool 2 and  cool grey 3 with just  bit of red on a few tattoos and the rose and darker greys for her headscarf. i love this image its very 1950's rockabilly which is a style i love.
I've die cut her using spellbinders decorative labels 28 and layered and embossed black card with metallic rub on to enhance the embossed pattern. the swirls are a cupcake wrapper bought ages ago from homebargains, they where brown so I've coloured them using a black promarker.
I was really pleased with how this turned out and it started me thinking of doing more simple cards and less embellishments or fuss and keeping the main image as the focus this is one of them cards i now don't want to give away !!!
do you ever get that? you make a card with no idea what you're doing but by the end of it you love it so much you cant bear to part with it?

Well that's it for my first blog!!!! Wasn't so bad after all. xxx
